I wasn't going to post these photos for a couple of reasons.
  • They're not up to my usual photography standard! cry.gif
  • I don't condone or want to encourage centipede handling! (don't copy silly Billy)
But I've been told the photos would be appreciated, so here they are:

WOW! Stunning photos! I can't believe you held that thing! Did you get bitten? Is there a certain way to handle them ( I think there is but I would like to be sure )?

f1.gif Where and how can you get one of those?! how much was yours? Cool picks. Don't think I'd be too happy being bitten by one of those; the fangs, and the venom, and, er, the venom! God my flat mates would be so happy. What with the recent escape of my G. rosea. Dunno why they were so irate. The thing is about as vicious as a small rock. And it was only lost for an hour...... roll.gif

Thanks for the replys.

It is 12" ~ 30cm body length. I don't know how old it is, or which sex. I bought it with a faunarium, feeding tongs and a Scolopendra subspinipes dehaani; all for 130 including postage. They tend to be around 70-100 for adult giganteas.

smilie-eek.gif That thing is loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong! I would love to have one someday to see what they look like in person. My mom would never come to my house if I had one of those in a tank lurking around.

The only way she would visit me is if I have all my bugs in another room! roll.gif

I will head for Eternity via the path of Glory..."

I had a couple of centipedes but died will 1 died and the second 1 i hadnt seen for ages could have been eaten by the other one which was odd as I was aware they were communal and were fine for month or 2 but alas they both dead now, unless one escaped in my old bedroom smilie_think.gif Mine certainly didnt grow that big as far as i remember
