Hi all , I went to the local exotic pet shop yesterday for some supplies for my current and soon to arrive Blondi(s).....came back with 2 Emperors... clap.gif
I underdstand that they are not difficult to keep [ in comparison to other breeds]
I had a spare tank at home 18x10x10, the scorps are quite large, about 3 inch body length. Immediately after I housed them , using peat/verm mix, I realised the tank was not big enough.... head.gif What would an optimum size housing be for my beasties? I will post a few pics later, they are very active.... laugh.gif
They have caused mayhem already , water dish is full of peat, I can see these being a lot of fun............. help.gif

LMAO! Would have been really funny if you had named the thread "Emperor Scorpions..... They rule!"

True ! The petshop must have had extra crix on reserve. I hope to slim these beasts down, by a diet of 40 crickets an hour.... laugh.gif

great pics, i found this for you hope it helps.

Range Tropical rainforests of West Africa.
Type Terrestrial, but will burrow to some extent.
Diet Babies eat pinhead crickets, and other small insects. Adults eat crickets, mealworms, other large insects, and an occasional pinkie mouse.
Full Grown Size 4.5 to 6 inches.
Growth Medium speed.
Temperature 75 to 82 F.
Humidity 75 to 80%. Adults may drink from a shallow, wide water dish.
Temperament Docile and calm.
Housing Babies can live in a clear plastic deli-container with air holes. Adults can live in a 5 to 20-gallon tank depending on the number of scorpions. Floor space is more important than height.
Substrate 3 to 4 inches of peat moss or potting soil.
Decor Rocks, logs, cork bark, etc. make good hiding places. Moss can be added for floor cover, but leave some areas open for burrowing in the substrate.
Other Names Imperial Scorpion.

When i had scorpions i made the mistake of keeping them in a viv to big ad they wouldnt eat, as soon as i put them in a smaller one they started eating again.
