This morning I was doing some enclosure maintenance in my Emperor enclosure. I have recently handled both of my Emps for various reasons.
Today I decided to pick the larger one up because he was half in the water dish. Whilst he was in my hand he decided to sting me.
Twice in the same spot, on my index finger. There was some pain, but it seemed to be a dry sting, as there are very little after effects.
Do scorpions have the ability to withold venom as T's do with bites ?
It's a shame but I will not handle him again which is probably a good thing.

I think they do have the ability to deliver a dry sting mate not 100% but im pretty sure they can.

Thanks Steve, I will probably not try to pick the larger one up again but at least I have learnt something the hard way without too much damage !

Cheers
