Hi
I do not think that this is L.murphyorum (I don't even think that these are in the hobby).
What that is, is the juvinile colouring of what is being sold in the hobby as L.malayanus but, whether or not it is L.malayanus is another matter as at the moment I know off two what look to be very different Liphistius sp. being sold as L.malayanus! rolleyes.gif

Funny though how two different Liphistius sp. can be sold as the same yet the juviniles are sold as a different species lol.

Maybe this helps a little?
Cheers
Chris

Slight tangent here, but thought it might be of interest;

96% et.OH = "fixation"* strength.

70-80% afterwards to preserve...

I'm not an expert on the DNA requirements of preservation (does it apply here?), although my current understanding is that it's better if they are kept in >70% et.OH in the freezer.

If it's for morphology, I'd put it into 80% et.OH rather than leaving it at 96% as this will bleach it far quicker and make it horrendously brittle. You can always re-hydrate it to soften the specimen, but that starts to really bugger about with any DNA stuff if so required.

Anyway, good looking spiders, I wish they were easier to get a hold of (for me).

*Alcohol is only a pseudofixative anyway...
